Meet The Trainers

Our experienced dog training team is led by Director Jason Davis, a third generation dog trainer who has trained 10k+ pet dogs, competition obedience dogs, and protection dogs. Jason Davis

Training Director

Jason Davis directs our training programs at Jet Set University. He is a third generation dog trainer that has trained thousands of dogs of all breeds and temperaments. Additionally, he is the owner of Karma K9 in Jacksonville, Florida. More recently, he has been involved with assisting in law enforcement protection training, and has won a national championship with the highest score recorded in the sport of protection. Jason’s background has helped him to develop a natural ability to understand and handle all types of cases from family pet behavioral problems to dog and human aggression issues.

Chanin Rivera

Head Trainer

Chanin Rivera is a skilled dog handler in French Ring Sport and the Head Trainer at Jet Set University. Growing up immersed in the dog world, Chanin began competing in conformation events at just 12 years old and later transitioned to obedience and protection sports. Her passion for animal training and behavior took root in 2012 while living overseas, where she gained hands-on experience through an internship with a local trainer and volunteered her expertise to help military families with their dogs during deployments.

In addition to her work with dogs, Chanin spent four years volunteering at a wildlife sanctuary, where she worked closely with lions, tigers, hyenas, and wolves. During this time, she gained invaluable knowledge about animal behavior and the profound impact of a balanced diet on an animal’s overall well-being. These experiences further deepened her understanding of the principles that guide effective training and care for animals.

Initially driven by a desire to prevent dogs from ending up in shelters or being rehomed, Chanin discovered her true calling in professional dog training. She is passionate about strengthening the bond between dogs and their owners, helping people unlock the full potential of their canine companions.

In 2017, Chanin joined Jet Set Pets as Head Trainer, where she has been instrumental in designing and implementing the high-standard training curriculum used in their programs today. With her wealth of experience, dedication, and holistic approach to animal care, Chanin continues to inspire trust and success in every dog and handler she works with.

Erin Sullivan

Trainer

With a degree in Zoo Animal Technology, Erin is a previous veterinary technician who has trained countless exotic animals. After completing her degree in animal behavior, Erin began working at Jet Set Pets in 2017 as a head kennel technician. In this position, she worked with countless breeds and behaviors. While at JSP, she began interning with our training team to pursue a career goal to become a dog behaviorist. She is a dog handler in French Ring Sport with her personal dog, Sykes. She has had a passion for animals her entire life and loves that she has the opportunity to express that through her training.

Lilli Interdonato

Trainer

Lilli Interdonato’s passion for animals began at a young age, and her dedication to understanding and working with dogs has shaped her successful career in dog training. She started her journey in the dog training world at Jet Set University in July 2018, where she honed her skills and deepened her knowledge of canine behavior.

Lilli’s path into training began as a kennel technician, giving her invaluable hands-on experience with a wide range of dog breeds and personalities. This role allowed her to develop a keen understanding of the different temperaments and needs of dogs, which laid the foundation for her future work. Her dedication to helping dogs became even more personal when she took on the challenge of working with her own dog, whose leash reactivity ignited her desire to pursue dog training professionally.

Through internships with various dog trainers and continued education, Lilli’s expertise has expanded to cover all types of dog behavior. She has a special focus on working with leash-reactive and dog-reactive dogs, helping them build confidence, improve social skills, and develop positive behavior. With a compassionate and patient approach, Lilli is committed to helping both dogs and their owners live in harmony.

Lilli’s experience, coupled with her love for animals and commitment to ongoing learning, makes her an excellent resource for those seeking effective solutions for challenging dog behavior.

Shantal Schwehr

Trainer

Shantel Schwehr is a professional dog trainer with a deep passion for helping dogs and their owners build lasting, positive relationships. Her journey into animal behavior began in her teenage years and early adulthood, training and competing with horses. This foundation inspired her to pursue a degree in Animal Sciences from Colorado State University, which she earned in 2018.

Shantel’s career has been rich with diverse experiences, including working in doggy daycares, specialty veterinary hospitals, and serving on the behavioral teams at the Jacksonville Humane Society and ASPCA. In 2020, she joined the JSU team, bringing her expertise and dedication to creating meaningful change for dogs and their families.

A key aspect of Shantel’s training philosophy is the importance of bonding with each dog. She takes time to understand each dog’s unique personality, history, and needs, building trust and connection to create a strong foundation for success. This individualized approach allows her to craft training plans that are both effective and compassionate.

Shantel has a special passion for working with fearful and reactive dogs. She finds immense joy in helping them gain confidence, overcome challenges, and thrive in their environments. Her ability to foster trust and bring out the best in every dog makes her a valued partner for pet owners looking to create a better life for their canine companions.
